Charlton House

Event Description

Saturday 2nd May

10pm - 4am

Join the Haunted Ventures team on a ghost hunt at this infamous location!

Built in 1607 and located in Greenwich, Charlton House has a reputation for being one of the most haunted houses in London.

This well-known Jacobean Mansion hosts an eerie attic and a dark basement which sends shivers down the spine of even the most experienced ghost hunters. Due to the dark oppressive feelings in the attic and cellars some staff are too afraid to enter these areas even in daylight!

Over the years there have been many reports of the paranormal at Charlton house. There have been reports of a ‘grey lady’ seen roaming the gardens holding something that closely resembles a baby. Could this be related to the mummified body of baby which was discovered in old fireplace during restoration work?

Many staff have also reported personal belongings to have gone missing but to mysteriously appear in a completely different location.

Sir William Langhorne who purchased the estate in 1680 and lived there until his death in 1714 was buried in the nearby Charlton Parish Church. It has been reported that he haunts the rooms and halls of Charlton House in search of a young lady whom to produce an heir.
